10 Easy Cocktail Drinks to Make at Home

Games night, potluck night, or a weekend get-together at home with your family and friends are some events that can be glamorized with cocktails. You can use some classic and all-time favorite cocktails to bring more fun to a house party. Making a cocktail is not as difficult as it seems. Some classics require simple ingredients and are easy to make at home. Here are the top ten cocktails you can make at home.

 

  • The Moscow Mule
    Here’s the recipe for this popular drink. You need 1.5 oz vodka, 4 oz ginger beer, and a squeeze of lime juice. Shake and pour in a glass.


  • Bloody Mary
    A brunch favorite here is the recipe to make it a hit of the party. All you need is 1.5 oz vodka, 3 oz tomato juice, ½ oz lemon juice, 3 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce, 1 dash tabasco, celery salt, and pepper.


  • Old Fashioned
    You need a sugar cube in an old-fashioned glass, add two dashes of Angostura bitters, and a dash of water. Then, add ice, 3 ounces of bourbon, rye, or sour mash whiskey. Garnish with a twist of orange and a cocktail cherry. 
  • Margarita
    In a cocktail shaker, combine ice with 1.25 oz tequila, ⅔ oz Cointreau triple sec, ½ oz lime juice
    shake, and strain into a salt-rimmed glass. 
  • Martini with gin
    The OG Martini is prepared using 2 oz gin and ⅓ oz dry vermouth. Stir these with ice cubes and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. 
  • The Manhattan
    An easy drink like a martini needs 2 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce sweet vermouth, 2 dash angostura bitters, a twist of lemon peel, and 1 maraschino cherry. 
  • Ramos Gin Fizz
    Also known as the New Orleans Fizz, this drink needs 2 ounces of London dry gin, 1 ounce heavy cream, one egg white, ½ ounce lemon juice, ½ ounce lime juice, 2 teaspoons superfine sugar, and 2 to 3 drops of orange flower water. 
  • Mint Julep
    Add 2 teaspoons of superfine sugar in a pre-chilled, dry 12 ounce glass or silver beaker. Add a dash of soda water and swirl until a syrup is formed. Place and crush at least 15 mint leaves with a muddler and pour 3 ounces of bourbon. Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir briskly. Add more ice and top it off with mint garnish. 
  • Hot Toddy
    This winter drink involves simmering 2 ounces of water on low heat. Then, add 3 cloves, a cinnamon stick, and ½ inch of peeled and sliced ginger with grated nutmeg. Warm a heat-proof glass and pour 2 ounces of whiskey. Add the spiced water to it and stir with honey and lemon.
  •  Sidecar
    You need 1 ounce Mandarine Napoleon, ¾ ounces lemon juice, and 1¾ ounces Hennessy VS. Wipe the rim of a glass with lemon peel, adding a coat of sugar on the outer edge. Mix in a shaker with ice and pour into the glass.
